Members of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) have today Friday, 25 November 2022 continued with their series of sensitization tours to Commanding Officers (COs) and Officers Commanding (OCs) various Formations and Units at 9KR, Moi Barracks in Eldoret.
The sensitization forum offered an avenue for MWAK to elaborate their mandate in the military and also collect views from the officers on how to better their services even as they project to cascade MWAK membership across all ranks.
MWAK Chairperson, Mrs Tabitha Kibochi in her remarks noted that KDF leadership has adequately taken care of the soldiers thus there’s need to additionally take care of the families they leave at home while at the front line defending and protecting their motherland.
“We are cognizant of the fact that KDF leadership is soldier-centric but our approach is family-centric. We want every soldier to rest assured that, while he’s executing the KDF mandate, his family is not left behind but is equally taken care of sufficiently,” said Mrs Kibochi.
The COs and OCs were taken through a brief overview of the MWAK strategic plan 2021-2025 and the thematic pillars of the association among them health, education, housing, mentorship, recreation and wellbeing, veteran affairs, financial sustainability, partnerships and collaboration among others.
Eldoret is the fourth region after Nairobi, Thika and Coast to host the sensitization fora while Isiolo and Nanyuki regions are expected to host the team in the coming days.
