The Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) in partnership with International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) are delighted to extend the “Ambassador of the day” competition to the military family in line with the 2023 International Women’s Day theme “DigitALL-Innovation and technology for Gender Equity”.
The competition will give a young Kenyan woman/ girl involved in research, science, technology and innovation an opportunity to demonstrate her leadership skills, advocate for change and promote gender equality through a day shadowing an ambassador or Head of Mission.

Criteria for consideration is as follows. One MUST: Be a Kenyan woman/girl between 18-25 years old from across the country.
- Pursuing or should have completed a course in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
- Be from the KDF Family but not an employee of the Ministry of Defence.
- Be ready to be at IPSTC for a period of five (5) days from 23-27th April 2023 as part of the celebration of International Women’s Day themed “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for Gender Equality”.
- Not averse to her images/ person being used in mass media messaging in line with this year’s theme. (Ready to give consent for her photos and videos to be taken and used as appropriate.)
The application is an inclusive process and encourages candidates from different socioeconomic backgrounds, as well as those differently abled to apply.
