The Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) in partnership with Family Bank Group today attended the graduation of 51 students who were awarded certificates after a three-month training. The colourful ceremony was held at the Ulinzi Sports Complex-Langa’ta.
The graduands were recipients of a Family Bank sponsorship and training awarded through a partnership with MWAK. The Construction skills gained in plumbing and electrical works is an impetus towards independence and financial stability for our graduates.
In his remarks, the Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces (CDF) General Francis Ogolla who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony applauded MWAK leadership for coming up with the worthy initiative and promised his unwavering support to the Association. He urged the graduands to observe commitment and high level integrity as they put into practice the skills they had acquired. He also appreciated MWAK efforts in improving the welfare of all KDF families both the serving, retired and the deceased.
Family Bank Chairperson, Dr. Wilfred Kiboro, assured MWAK of enduring collaboration. He added, “behind every successful man there is a woman.” This was to emphasis on the role that MWAK members play in supporting their husbands so they can serve their country better; knowing that their families are well taken care of.
Mrs. Grace Amogolla; the MWAK Head of partnerships and collaboration, urged the graduands to pursue career advancement through further studies and make proper use of the skills they acquired.
The graduands were awarded with certificates and toolkits and were further advised to extend their commitment and continuous building of their skills and capabilities to contribute in nation building.
Present during the ceremony were Service Commanders, MWAK Chairlady Mrs. Aileen Ogolla, Senior Officers, Officers, senior Family Bank management among others.
