MWAK holds mentorship and financial empowerment seminar at Moi Air Base
The military wives association of Kenya (MWAK) conducted a mentorship and financial empowerment program at Moi Air Base, targeting spouses of serving, retired and deceased Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel in line with the CDFs mission “one force one mission”.
The key issues discussed during the event were matters finance, welfare, and economic empowerment.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Base Commander Moi Air Base Colonel Herbert Wafula applauded the efforts made by MWAK in ensuring the stability and empowerment of military families within the KDF.
The chairperson MWAK Mrs. Aileen Ogolla expressed her gratitude and thanked the participants for the continuous support and participation in ensuring the progress and ultimate success of the team.
The main agenda of the program was to empower women on ways to improve themselves and their families and to achieve financial independence. Mrs.Ogolla urged participants to network and support each other to rise and flourish. She then concluded by urging the participants to challenge convectional currents and overcome the fear of failure in order to contribute positively to economic growth.
Present during the program were senior officers, officers, service members, MWAK officials and participants.
