A delegate of MWAK members on the 11th April 2024 attended a disability seminar at Langata Garisson, Ulinzi Complex.
The seminar, organized by the C&W department was aimed at creating awareness on programs for those living with disabilities and engaging with them to understand some of the challenges they encounter as well as motivate them to realize their full potential.
Staff Officer One Compensation, Lieutenant Colonel Omuse took them through the compensation procedure and services offered at welfare centers; among them being financial empowerment management, legal advice, family mediation and psycho- social support.
Mrs Knight Lekolool read Chairlady Aileen Ogolla’s speech which noted the progress of the department in designing valuable programmes for those abled differently.
She elucidated that MWAK’s vision of promoting the overall wellbeing of families remains unchanged and urged more wives to join in.
“Our hope is that after our engagement today, your wives, especially those who have not joined will do so in order to work on attaining satisfying standards of our lives and health together.”
Her opinions were resounded by the Head of MWAK Health Pillar Effie Kinuthia who expounded on the association’s leadership, ongoing projects and the various pillars guiding their engagements.
Compensation and Welfare Department communicated it’s plans to establish welfare centers in designated regions, garrisons and bases with the intention of achieving seamless welfare arrangements among the KDF personnel.
