Mrs Anne Murimi led the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) in a diaper distribution programme for Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) dependants with special needs on 14 June, 2024, at Kenya Navy Base (KNB), Mtongwe and Mariakani Garrison.
Mrs Murimi recognized the challenges and difficulties caregivers undergo to support the special needs dependants. She emphasized MWAK’s efforts in raising awareness as well as mentoring Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) families through different ways such as donations and awareness campaigns.
Brigadier Peter Chelimo, Deputy Commander Kenya Navy, commended MWAK for consistently putting their best foot forward in situations concerning KDF families’ welfare.
“The KDF is proud of MWAK for prioritising the wellbeing of KDF families. We acknowledge MWAK’s efforts in promoting a diaper distribution programme for KDF dependants with special needs. This charity goes a long way towards easing the burden of caregivers,” Brigadier Chelimo stated.
In Mariakani Garrison, the donation was received by the Garrison Commander, Brigadier Douglas Mokwena who thanked MWAK for the kind gesture.
Over 20 KDF families benefitted from the diaper distribution programme intended to last three months.
In attendance were Senior Officers, Officers, Service Members and Families.
