COMMANDER KENYA NAVY’S MOTHER LAID TO REST

On 9 November 2024, The Chief of Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri led the KDF fraternity to condole with Commander Kenya Navy Major General Paul Otieno during the internment of his dear mother Pamela Ogwai in Seme, Kisumu County.

Members of the Military Wives Association of Kenya, led by the Chairperson Mrs. Grace Kahariri accompanied the Chief of Defence Forces.

Family and friends joined to celebrate a life well lived, sharing experiences they had with the deceased and key life lessons learned from their various interactions.

Pamela Ogwai’s story is that of a resourceful and determined lady who inspired everyone by her bravery, confidence and power to embrace challenges. Encouraging others to boldly pursue their dreams and learn to demonstrate the spirit of resilience in difficult circumstances.

General Kahariri in his speech, expressed his deepest condolences to the family, wishing them peace and healing during this difficult period and further assuring them that, the entire KDF fraternity will continue to stand with them.

In his tribute, Major General Otieno, thanked his mother for molding him into the person he is today. “She was the backbone of our family”. He reminisced on the memorable moments he shared with her, noting that despite the struggles, she managed to live a full and inspiring life.

“Mama I have gained a profound understanding of what resilience, grit and selflessness means. Your sacrifices taught me the values of hard work, determination and love. I promise to uphold your enduring legacy.” He concluded.

Mrs. Linet Otieno, spouse to Commander Kenya Navy and the leader of MWAK Mombasa Region, in remembering her mother in law, said she displayed genuine love that will stay with her forever. Mrs Otieno acknowledged the presence and support of MWAK members. Thanking them for being there during her time of need.

Mama Pamela Ogwai Owuor has penned survival lessons on the hearts of the many people who came to bid her farewell. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
