The Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK), led under the leadership of Mrs. Grace Kahariri conducted education mentorship program for 2025 candidates for form four in Kenya Defence Forces Sponsored Schools (KDFSS).
At Lang’ata Barracks Secondary School, Mrs. Grace Kahariri encouraged the candidates urging them to revise for the exams reminding them exams are part of their journey and not the destination.
“Stay focused, confident, and determined to achieve your goals. Believe in yourselves and your abilities. Trust in your preparation and approach your exams with calm and confidence. You’ve worked hard, and now it’s time to shine. May your efforts pay off. With dedication and perseverance, I’m confident you’ll achieve great results. Keep pushing forward,” said Mrs. Kahariri.
She urged them to read the question twice to understand it, not to answer. “Understand the question fully before providing an answer.” she told the candidates.
The education mentorship was to enhance the candidates’ confidence and motivation to learn, supporting them navigate challenges and build resilience preparing them for future careers and responsibilities.
It also aimed at fostering a positive attitude towards education and personal growth to help them develop effective study habits and time management skills encouraging them to set and work towards achievable goals which in turn will help them develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
MWAK members facilitators touched on topics including Discipline, Goal setting and time management, Strategy and consistency and Positive attitude.
The candidates were also given real life testimonials by representatives from Safaricom Foundation and Mr. Daniel Ndambuki (Churchill) all invited by Mrs. Kahariri to mentor the candidates.
Mr. Ndambuki informed the students to appreciate that they can make it in life, be whatever they dream of and have a successful career as well.
The mentorship program was replicated in Thika Garrison Secondary School, Kahawa Garrison Secondary School and Embakasi Garrison Secondary School.
MWAK Members and the partners were welcomed by KDF leadership in the establishment where the programs took place.
