
Members of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) joined the Family Bank Ltd, through The Family Group Foundation in a Joint Commissioning and Send Off Ceremony of the 2026 “Tufuzu Na Elimu” Senior School Scholarship beneficiaries at Moi Forces Academy, Nairobi.
During the event, 297 bright and deserving students from 25 counties were awarded scholarships. The package is inclusive of full tuition, school uniform and boarding and upkeep fees for the three years.
Representing MWAK Chairperson Mrs. Grace Kahariri, Vice Chairperson Mrs. Hellen Omenda congratulated the scholars on their achievement and cautioned them against complacency. She expressed gratitude to Family Group Foundation for supporting disadvantaged students and acknowledged the partnership’s impact on KDF families.
Delivering MWAK Chairperson remarks to the scholars, she appreciated the Family Bank Limited through Family Group Foundation, for partnering with MWAK and enabling the continuous improvement of the quality of life of dependents of our KDF families. “To our scholars, this generous support is a stepping-stone to making your dreams possible. The Family Bank Founder Mr. T K Muya thanked MWAK and KDF leadership for support and partnership in the scholarship program. He encouraged the beneficiaries to leverage the opportunity, reaffirming the institutions commitment to creating long-term social and economic value beyond banking assuring the beneficiaries of walking with them throughout their academic journey and beyond.
Representing the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Director General Dr. Elyas Abdi Jillaow, encouraged the scholars to make use of the opportunity to also mentor others in the future and to make wise choices to ensure that they contribute to national development as they impact their families and communities.
“As a Ministry, we attach a lot of importance to such initiatives because education is everything to an individual. I congratulate all the students for their exemplary performance in the concluded Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) examinations. We thank the Family Group Foundation for investing in the future of this country,” He added.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Family Group Limited Chairman Dr. Francis Muraya, Foundation Trustees, MWAK members, KDF Personnel and government officials.
MWAK celebrated the award of five additional scholarships by Family Group Foundation, bringing the total to 12.
