Accessibility, affordability, and adequate housing is part of the government’s Big 4 Development Agenda. Owing to the expanding numbers of personnel, KDF faces an acute shortage of accommodation facilities within the military establishments.
Lack of secure accommodation, especially for deployed personnel, is a cause for anxiety to the families and can impact their sense of belonging, self-esteem, and mental and physical health. Given the frequent mobility of KDF personnel, it is imperative that families are housed in secure spaces with ease of access to services such as education, medical and recreation.
In addition, it is the responsibility of KDF families who reside in KDF houses to ensure that available houses are kept clean and habitable.
The goal is to make military camps, bases and formations a tranquil and serene dwelling place for military families.
