KDF, MASSACHUSETTES NATIONAL GUARD CHAPLAINCY ENGAGEMENT

Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) Chairperson Mrs Tabitha Kibochi, today joined Kenya Defence Forces Chaplaincy fratenity during the closing ceremony of Family Resiliency engagement organised by KDF chaplaincy in partnership with Massachusetts National Guard (MANG) held at little daughters of Saint Joseph in Karen.

The three-day engagement provided a platform for the two institutions to deliberate and develop a raft of programmes aimed at promoting strong family bonds within the Kenya Defence Forces.

The meeting observed that a strong soldierism must be backed up with a strong family bond that provides a motivating environment for a soldier to undertake his/her duties.The programme also aims to introduce and inculcate good ethical values and a spiritually functional family to service members and their families.

The programmes will also help families of service personnel address impacts of long deployment and combat related stressors.

Speaking at the event MWAK chairperson underscored the importance of family to lives of Kenya Defence Forces personnel noting that a soldier can only perform best when his or her family is at peace.

She further noted that humanity must have values and vowed to work with all service personnel within the service in promoting good family values.
