MWAK members led by the Chairlady, Aileen Ogolla graced the Kenya Army change of guard ceremony at Ngao Gardens, Kenya Army Headquarters.
During the ceremony, the outgoing Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Peter Njiru handed over the office to Lieutenant General David Tarus who previously served as his deputy.
In his speech, Lt General Njiru congratulated his successor noting that he is confident in his professionalism, experience and zeal to serve.
“As I hang my boots, I am confident that the Kenya Army service is in the hands of a capable leader,” said Lt General Njiru.
He urged those present to maintain family cohesiveness for ease of reintegration to civilian life.
In turn, Lt General Tarus lauded his predecessor for the achievements registered during his term. He thanked Lt. General Njiru for putting service before self and leaving a strong team that will continue to uphold the virtues of Kenya Army towards national security.
MWAK members present during the event included Grace Kahariri, Mercy Njiru, Monica Tarus, Rose Ng’ang’a, Roseline Wesonga and Becky Kipkorir.
