The founding Chairperson of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) Mrs Tabitha Kibochi has today, 16 May 2023 handed over the office to her successor, Mrs Aileen Ogolla in a colourful ceremony held at the MWAK offices in Nairobi.
In her farewell remarks, Mrs Kibochi recounted how the Association has grown in leaps and bounds to a formidable entity in just two years.
She reiterated MWAK’s commitment to improving the holistic welfare of KDF families, the serving, retired, widowed and orphans with a keen emphasis on children abled differently’ within the military.
Mrs Kibochi encouraged members to continue championing the Vision of the Association as focusing on their mantra ‘Walking Far Together’.
She thanked the team for their support and urged them to support the incoming Chairperson and the entire leadership.
The Chairperson, Mrs Aileen Ogolla, thanked Mrs. Kibochi for her idea of bringing the Military wives together. “For the Association to meet its expectations, there is need for each member to engage and contribute” She emphasised.
MWAK members present during the ceremony thanked Mrs Kibochi for her inclusive and exemplary leadership that has inspired, influenced and transformed their individual lives and that of the KDF families.
During the ceremony, Mrs Joyce Mwangi took over as the Vice Chairperson, a position previously held by Mrs Ogolla.
