Members of the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) on Friday 26 August 2022 extended their mentorship program to the Kenya’s Contingent of the East Africa Community (EAC) Reinforcement Force to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who are training at the School of Infantry, Isiolo.
The mentorship program, led by MWAK Chairperson Mrs. Tabitha Kibochi extensively tackled spiritual matters, family support and mental health issues.
In her remarks Mrs Kibochi emphasized the importance of the family unit as the backbone of a successful force. “Be supportive to the families that you leave behind. Be there for them to offer any help whenever called upon since a happy family results to a happy force,” said the MWAK Chair.
She affirmed MWAK’s commitment in ensuring the holistic well-being of KDF personnel and their families.
The EAC Reinforcement Force contingent has been undergoing rigorous Pre-Deployment Training at the School of Infantry geared towards mission readiness ahead of their deployment in the Eastern part of the DRC.
Mrs Kibochi was hosted by Brigadier John Wekesa, Chief of welfare and compensation and accompanied by other MWAK officials and members.
