MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR YEAR 2026 CANDIDATES IN ALL KENYA DEFENCE FORCES SPONSORED SCHOOLS
National examinations mark one of the most defining moments in a learner’s academic journey. For many students, this period brings heightened pressure, anxiety, and the need for greater focus and emotional resilience.
Recognizing these challenges, under the stewardship of the Chairlady Mrs. Grace Kahariri, the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK) proudly rolled out the 2026 Mentorship Programme across Kenya Defence Forces Sponsored Schools, guiding, uplifting and empowering learners as they prepare for their national examinations.
Grounded in the values of discipline, dignity and destiny, and a tagline: Mtoto Imara • Familia Imara • Taifa Imara, the programme seeks to nurture confident, responsible and purpose driven young citizens who will strengthen their families and contribute meaningfully to the nation.
The comprehensive mentorship programme across 14 Senior Schools and 14 Junior Schools, reaching thousands of Form 4 and Grade 9 candidates aimed at preparing them for their KCSE and CBC pathway assessments.
The initiative aimed to uplift learners, strengthen their confidence, and remind them that they are capable, valued, and supported by the larger KDF community.
In each institution, MWAK mothers engaged learners in open conversations about discipline, dignity, mental wellbeing, exam preparation, and the importance of making responsible choices.
The sessions were interactive, relatable, and tailored to the unique needs of both Form 4 and Grade 9 learners.
Teachers noted that the mentorship came at the perfect time, reinforcing the guidance already offered in schools and giving learners renewed energy as they approach their examinations.
A major highlight of the programme was the delivery of the Keynote Address by Mrs. Grace Kahariri, Chairlady MWAK, read simultaneously across all 28 schools by the Heads of Regions. Her message was powerful, honest, and deeply resonant with learners.
To ensure clarity and impact, two key quotes were emphasized:
“KCSE is NOT the end of your life; it is the beginning… Some of you will get A, some B, some C, some D — ALL OF YOU HAVE A DESTINY.” Read the remarks of Mrs. Grace Kahariri.
This message helped Form 4 candidates release fear, embrace hope, and understand that their future is bigger than one exam.
To Grade 9 candidates, “You are NOT a failure if you don’t choose STEM. Your destiny is not in what people say, it is in what God put in you.” Chairlady MWAK.
This quote reassured Grade 9 learners facing CBC pathway selection, reminding them that every talent and passion is valid.
Across all 28 institutions, learners expressed heartfelt appreciation for MWAK’s visit.
Many shared that the mentorship:

The gifts presented by MWAK added joy and encouragement, symbolizing care, solidarity, and belief in the learners’ potential.
School Heads, Teachers, Counsellors, and Academic Coordinators across the country expressed deep gratitude to MWAK.
They highlighted the mentorship:

• Unit Compensation & Welfare Officers Coordinated logistics, ensured smooth delivery of sessions, and supported learners throughout the programme.
• KDF Chaplaincy Provided spiritual grounding, emotional support, and messages of hope and resilience.
• Family Group Foundation Shared insights on skills development, financial literacy, and post exam opportunities, reinforcing MWAK’s commitment to empowering youth.
• Motivational Speaker Sammy Brayo Delivered energetic, relatable, and uplifting talks that deeply resonated with learners, encouraging them to stay focused and disciplined.
Their combined efforts strengthened the programme’s impact and ensured that learners received holistic support academic, emotional, spiritual, and motivational.
Through this nationwide mentorship programme, MWAK reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting the academic and personal development of learners within the Kenya Defence Forces community
