MWAK ATTEND LAUNCH OF CHILDREN AND TEENS SEMINAR

The Military Wives Association of Kenya on Monday the 15th April 2024 attended the launch of a children and teens seminar organized by DHQ CAU for KDF families at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.

Commandant DHQ CAU Brigadier Willy Wesonga, who presided over the opening of the one week seminar acknowledged MWAK for its continuous effort in nurturing the youth through various programmes which are not only an opportunity for them to develop character but also grow their social capital and awareness.

On the other hand, the coordinator of MWAK Youth Programmes Martha Kipkosgey, implored the youth present to seek skills, knowledge and exposure which is of utmost importance when maneuvering in the contemporary world.

Her opinions were reiterated by Chairlady Aileen Ogolla who strongly advocates for such platforms for development of life skills, nurturing talent and self confidence among the youth.

“We want you to learn life skills that will enable you to positively navigate life and grow to be well-adjusted citizens.”

She further encouraged them to have fun and make new friends for a richer, memorable experience during the seminar.

The children and teens were taken through mentorship talks by the chaplaincy and IT specialists on self awareness and cyber bullying with more to come in the subsequent days.

In attendance were members of the MWAK executive committee, Chaplains as well as Brigadier John Khaoya, Chief of DHQ C&W.
