EMPOWERING FUTURES: THERAPY ROOM EQUIPMENT HANDOVER AT KAHAWA GARRISON PRIMARY SCHOOL SPECIAL UNIT

Every child deserves a place to shine!
A New Dawn for Inclusive Learning: Kahawa Garrison Primary School Special Unit Upgraded.

A moment of pride and transformation was marked at Kahawa Garrison Primary School Special Unit as the Military Wives Association of Kenya (MWAK), under the leadership of Chairperson Mrs. Grace Kahariri, officially handed over therapy room equipment to the unit.

With the invaluable support of the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE), the equipping of the therapy room was not just a milestone; it was a necessity. With this upgrade, the Special Unit now meets the standards required to be recognized as a fully-fledged school, opening doors of opportunity for children with special needs to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment tailored to their unique abilities.

The therapy equipment symbolizes more than resources it represents dignity, opportunity, and hope. The Deputy head teacher of the Garrison Primary School shared with emotion, “This is a turning point. Our children now have a place where they can grow, learn, and be supported with love and care.”.

The teacher in charge of the Unit expressed renewed confidence in their ability to nurture learners, embracing the promise of a brighter, more inclusive future. The handover was not just about equipment; it was about empowering futures and celebrating every child’s potential.

MWAK, together with KISE, continues to champion initiatives that uplift military families and neighboring communities. By investing in inclusive education and healthcare, we affirm that every child regardless of ability deserves the chance to shine.
